More Than What is Due
2019, 67 pieces of clothes, 23 pieces of pants, 9 bags, 2 hats, Iron shelf, Thread, 300 × 140 cm
In this modern society people only care about style and price of an item, while the process lying behind its production is often ignored. From design, pattern-making, production, packaging to shipping - people’s fates are behind each piece of clothes, as well as the environmental impact its creation costs. The concept I wanted to share to my viewers is that the price we paid is bigger than we thought. We should stop wasting money on disposable products. On the contrary, we should purchase products which we could use continuously.
I carefully cut up these old clothes one by one and weaved them in a traditional manner onto a rusty iron frame picked from the junkyard, hoping to give it a new life.
