Plastic bags are a convenient product for life. They are simple and readily available. Wve don’t care how to dispose of a used plastic bag because it has no value and can be replaced quickly.
In 1959, Swedish engineer Sten Gustaf Thulin invented the first modern plastic bag. In Thulin’s view, the then-common use of paper bags was causing excessive deforestation; in contrast, plastic bags were much stronger than paper bags, and their repeated use would theoretically solve the environmental problems caused by the lack of durability of paper bags. However, this initial “good intention” to protect the environment ended up going in the exact opposite direction.
